Flashback I - Happy Birthday La Salle!

July 4, 2008

… is everybody’s birthday! Yup! You read it right. It is every La Sallian’s birthday as July 4, 2008 is our foundation day. The LaSallian community celebrated its 55th year with the Batch '58 hosting the whole activity.

As an institution, the foundation day was celebrated with a mass, an agape lunch and the birthday bash! The agape lunch was hosted by each college and their council officers. As for us (the College of Education), we celebrated it with balloons, party hats, cupcakes, and Jollibee (thanks to our sponsor). Everybody was in festive mood, everybody was so hyper and everybody was greeting everybody “Happy Birthday”. And because of this hyperactive, festive mood, everybody seems to forget their duties and responsibilities. Some just ate their agape lunch without paying (hello club presidents? Why did you distribute the food without checking the list of those who paid? Hello patay-gutom? Aren’t you embarrass by what you are doing?) Lucky for them, their stomachs didn’t ache.

Anyway, I should stop pointing fingers. There’s no point in doing such, since the candle already melted. If there are lessons I learned through this experience that would be time-management and being responsible, importance of open-communication and anger management.

Well, if council officers and club presidents were able to allot time for meetings (hello, late comers?) the flow of food distribution, program and payments will be more organize. Being responsible with managing your time and at the same being the person who knows how to help others (lazy, council officer hope you will read this) you will surely make other people’s lives less miserable, and less chaotic !

Meetings and plans… ring a bell? NO?! hello!! More meaningful talk about plans and agendas = less mistake.

Chill your raised eyebrows! I know what you’re thinking. Birthdays and anger don’t go hand-in-hand. Why this? Let’s just say I got angry with somebody but I cant yell at that somebody because I still respect that somebody in some ways and that that somebody is dear to me. And besides, I love studying in La Salle, I don’t want to be expelled. So instead of having physical outbursts (like punching that somebody or whoever I come across with) I shed some tears and cursed silently and loudly.

on the fits of anger

Ohhhhh!!! Sweet! Sweet tears!!! Pfffffffttttt!!!!!
